ABOUT US
ABOUT APEX Sign & Graphics
We may be a new company, but we aren't New to the industry
In early 2024, industry veteran Jacey Schneider, a well-known and respected leader in the Kansas City sign community for more than 30 years, and his longtime colleague and friend Tawnya Ace Kirby, set out to fulfill their shared dream of starting a sign and graphics company of their own. That vision became Apex Sign and Graphics.
Tragically, just as their dream was coming to life, Jacey suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in June 2024. Determined to honor his legacy and keep their vision alive, Tawnya pressed forward. Soon after, she was joined by Mitch Pence, Tim Larson, and Debbie Cardiff—a talented team with decades of experience in the sign industry—who helped bring the dream to fruition. Together, they officially launched Apex Sign and Graphics in September 2024.
Based in Gladstone, Missouri, Apex Sign and Graphics is a 100% woman-owned, full-service sign company. We specialize in custom signage, commercial vehicle wraps and graphics, and printing services. Whether it’s a bold storefront sign, a fleet of wrapped vehicles, or high-quality print materials—if it involves a sign, we can do it.
MEET THE OWNER
TAWNYA ACE KIRBY
I am a lifelong Missouri resident and have called the Kansas City Northland home since 2001. In 2013, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute, which opened the door to my career in the sign and graphics industry.
I began as a graphic designer under the mentorship of the late Jacey Schneider, a respected leader in the Kansas City sign business for more than 30 years. My early work focused on designing building signs and vehicle graphics, but before long, I expanded into installation—starting with simple graphics and quickly advancing to full vehicle wraps. To my surprise, I discovered I loved the hands-on process of installation just as much as design.
After years of working side by side, Jacey and I shared the dream of starting our own sign and graphics company. Sadly, he passed away just as we were preparing to launch. Determined to honor his legacy and continue our vision, I moved forward with that dream, and in September 2024, Apex Sign and Graphics officially opened its doors.
Every project we complete carries a piece of that shared vision, and I know Jacey would be proud of what we’ve already accomplished in such a short time.
In honor of jacey schneider
